Snowfox Discovery and 45-8 Energy Form Strategic Collaboration on Natural Hydrogen Exploration
45-8 Energy and Snowfox Discovery have entered into a strategic collaboration agreement to jointly assess selected high-potential areas for natural hydrogen exploration. The partnership brings together two groups with complementary technical approaches, with the aim of improving how prospective hydrogen systems are identified and evaluated at a regional scale.
The collaboration is centered on integrating datasets, exploration workflows and geological interpretation methods. Rather than focusing on a single project area, the companies intend to apply their combined methodologies across multiple confidential study regions, targeting environments where natural hydrogen generation and accumulation may be present.
Snowfox Discovery CEO, Daniel McMahon, says:
“We are delighted to work with 45-8 Energy. Building upon previous announcements, this strategic partnership demonstrates our commitment to driving the natural hydrogen industry forward by bringing together two of the leading exploration companies globally. We believe that our combined skill sets will enable us to unlock world-class opportunities and secure a meaningful first-mover advantage in this exciting sector.”
By pooling technical expertise, the two companies aim to accelerate target generation and reduce uncertainty in identifying viable exploration areas. The emphasis on regional-scale analysis reflects a broader shift in the sector toward building geological frameworks first, before committing to drilling or site-specific development.
While no specific locations have been disclosed, the agreement highlights the growing importance of collaboration in an emerging industry where data, interpretation and execution strategies are still being defined. The outcome of this work will likely inform future exploration programs and potential drill targeting as the natural hydrogen sector continues to evolve.
Full press release is attached below:
Snowfox Discovery, a natural hydrogen exploration company, and 45-8 Energy, a company focused on natural hydrogen and helium exploration, today announce the signing of a Strategic Collaboration Agreement. This partnership aims to assess the potential of selected high-value areas for natural hydrogen exploration.

Unlike green or blue hydrogen, which require significant energy input or carbon capture infrastructure, natural hydrogen is generated through ongoing geological processes within the Earth’s crust. It therefore represents a promising primary energy source with a near-zero carbon footprint and potentially lower production costs.
Benoît Hauville, Cofounder and Chief Executive of 45-8 ENERGY, commented:
"This collaboration reflects our strong belief in the value of regional strategic partnerships to develop robust and multidisciplinary exploration approaches. We are delighted to work with Snowfox Discovery and are convinced that our combined expertise will drive the successful identification of high-potential exploration areas."
The location of the study areas remains confidential.
