Devil Resources Limited (DRL) is an Australian-based resource company building an portfolio consisting of both helium, natural hydrogen, and geothermal. The company has developed an exploration portfolio of two license areas and five application areas, covering 12,300 sq km onshore Tasmania. Onshore Tasmania has excellent potential to host both subsurface helium, natural hydrogen, and geothermal resources and the company's technical work has identified 24 structural leads with an in-place resource potential of 144 MMkg Natural Hydrogen and 31 BCF Helium in EL5/2024 alone. Much of Tasmania is also underlain by thick sequences of highly, iron-rich ultramafic rocks, which are likely generative for natural hydrogen as well as intruded subsurface granites that are likely producing helium, natural hydrogen, and geothermal heat radiolysis. In addition to being geologically prospective, Tasmania offers excellent commercial opportunities for the use of natural hydrogen feedstock for green methanol manufacture. The potential of geothermal to provide despatchable electricity to the state is significant. The company is run by a team of experienced energy professionals.
Earth Source Hydrogen Ltd (ESH) is a private UK company with a focus on exploring for, and developing, natural hydrogen resources in Australia, the UK and the US. Funded by private investors, who have considerable subsurface, drilling, commercial and management experience, ESH has secured properties in Western Australia and is currently assessing exploration opportunities in the UK. It has also developed focus areas in the USA. Field work on ESH’s Australian properties is due to commence in March 2026.
Vema is building a new clean energy major based on Engineered Mineral Hydrogen, a patented process that unlocks thousands of years of H2 supply at a cost well below $1/kg by accelerating naturally occurring reactions in the subsurface. In just two years, the team has built a world class team, created the world's most advanced labs for water/rock interaction, secured a strong offtaker pipeline, identified sites in North America and beyond, drilled their first pilot well in Canada. Vema is backed by Marble, Extantia, Propeller, Grantham, Pace Ventures, Zero Carbon Capital and Bpifrance, raising $15m in equity financing.
Founded in 2020, HydroGenesis are a UK-based company building natural hydrogen acreage and progressing exploration throughout the African continent. The company has existing agreements in place with Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Republic of Guinea, Liberia, Republic of the Congo, and Kenya. The company also has existing local partnerships in Ghana and Tanzania, and has advanced or preliminary negotiations with a further eight countries. HydroGenesis aim to progress technical work into a portfolio of advanced natural hydrogen targets and then fully exit to a competent operator to proceed with drilling and production.
Terrensis is a pioneering natural hydrogen exploration company founded in 2022 by highly experienced entrepreneurs who are among the most seasoned leaders in this emerging sector. With more than a decade of unique expertise — including, as technical advisors, the design and implementation of the first natural hydrogen discovery — the founders bring unmatched scientific, technical and operational know-how. The company is now focused on achieving a second major discovery, targeting a large hydrogen gas accumulation in the Western Pyrenean foothills, one of the world’s most promising exploration areas. Terrensis made history in December 2023 by securing the first exclusive natural hydrogen exploration permit in France, named “Sauve Terre H²,” through its subsidiary TBH2 Aquitaine. The company collaborates with leading research institutions and is recognized for its deep technical know-how.
H2EX is an experienced and active explorer in the Australian sector. Located within their flagship PEL 691 project in the Eyre Peninsula South Australia, the company has identified 40 natural hydrogen targets following extensive geotechnical surveys including passive seismic, magnetotellurics and fluid inclusion analysis. PEL 691 spans 5,991 km2 (~1.5 million acres). The company is currently advancing exploration drilling plans. In South Australia, H2EX has ~56,000km2 in license applications. One of these applications, RSELA 810, contains the Robe-1 well which detected 25% hydrogen and 40% methane. The company also has a sizeable position in Western Australia with four Special Prospecting Authority applications.
Snowfox Discovery is a natural hydrogen exploration company building sector-defining technology. Their purpose is to enable natural hydrogen to accelerate and secure the energy transition. Co-founded by leading academics, experienced explorers and technology experts to unlock the potential of natural hydrogen for a net zero future.

Founded in 2022, H2Au is leading the way in natural hydrogen exploration and production (E&P), combining proven exploration techniques and unique play-based models to identify, lease and unlock hydrogen reserves. H2Au has already developed an extensive portfolio of exclusive leases, established joint venture partnerships, and is collaborating with off-takers to swiftly commercialize natural hydrogen as a valuable resource.
Founded by a Malian entrepreneur, Hydroma Inc is a Canadian leader in the development of large scale clean hydrogen projects with a strong focus on the African Continent. A pioneer in the discovery, research, exploration and operation of natural hydrogen in Mali and worldwide, Hydroma also actively develops green hydrogen and ammonia production, storage, transport and distribution projects in West Africa and Canada for local use and massive exports toward Europe and international markets. Convinced of the potential of natural and green hydrogen as enablers to accelerate sustainable development and growth worldwide, Hydroma is a key player in the establishment of a robust regional natural and green hydrogen economy via its West African Big Green Deal Initiative and Foundation (W.A.B.G.D.).
Helios Aragon is developing Europe’s first natural hydrogen production project in northern Spain and was designated a “project of regional significance” by the Government of Aragon in May 2023. The Monzon Field, discovered in the 1960’s, recorded high gas shows of pure hydrogen at a depth of 3,600m in a good quality sandstone reservoir overlain by a thick salt section. At the time, it was noted as a geological curiosity and the well was abandoned. The field structure is defined by modern 2D seismic and high-density gravity data. In 2022, an extensive surface geochemical survey was undertaken which recorded not only high levels of hydrogen above the field and major faults, but also helium which is deemed a “critical raw material” by the EU. The Monzon-2 appraisal well, to be drilled in the second half of 2025 at a cost of €12 million, will be the first of its kind in Europe – a well drilled to produce natural hydrogen.
