HyTerra Completes Seismic Program to Advance Hydrogen and Helium Exploration in Kansas

HyTerra Limited (ASX: HYT) has completed the acquisition and processing of its 2025 seismic program over its leases on the Mid-Continent Rift in Kansas, marking a significant step forward in its hydrogen and helium exploration efforts. The work was funded by an earlier investment from Fortescue Future Industries Technologies.

The program integrated newly processed seismic data with results from high-resolution airborne gravity-magnetic surveys and well logs. An additional rock physics study was conducted to quantify lithology, porosity, and fluid content, enhancing the ability to identify potential hydrogen-bearing zones.

According to the company, combining seismic, airborne, rock, fluid, and regional geological datasets is building a powerful in-house subsurface knowledge base. This integrated approach provides HyTerra with a competitive edge to de-risk exploration and safely plan future drilling locations.

Executive Director Avon McIntyre emphasized that the results represent “tremendous progress on derisking geologic hydrogen in the Mid-West USA,” with seismic interpretation now guiding the identification of significant structures and trapping styles.

HyTerra holds 100% ownership of the Nemaha Project in Kansas and participates in the Geneva Project in Nebraska. Both are positioned near existing infrastructure and potential offtakers, including ammonia producers and petrochemical facilities.
