HyTerra Adds Third Well to Kansas Drill Program Amid Growing Hydrogen-Helium Indicators
HyTerra (ASX: HYT) has expanded its 2025 drilling campaign at the Nemaha Project in Kansas with the addition of a third well, McCoy 1, based on promising early results. This marks a pivotal transition for the company—from twinning historic wells to independently identifying new targets using proprietary geological modeling and legacy seismic data.
McCoy 1, located approximately 9 km east of the first well (Sue Duroche 3), sits atop the Nemaha Ridge and will be spudded in early July following a brief crew break and routine rig maintenance. Meanwhile, mud gas readings from the Blythe 13-20 well have indicated the presence of both hydrogen and helium, and samples are now undergoing independent analysis at Isotech Laboratories.
This update forms part of HyTerra’s 12-month exploration program, backed by investment from Fortescue Future Industries, aimed at establishing commercial-scale natural hydrogen and helium production.
HyTerra’s shift to IP-driven exploration distinguishes it within the emerging natural hydrogen sector. The company will also be presenting its work at The Geological Society in London, signaling increasing global recognition.
