Gold Hydrogen Accelerates Helium Commercialisation Strategy at Ramsay Amid Tightening Global Supply

Gold Hydrogen has announced that it is advancing multiple commercialisation pathways for its Ramsay Project in South Australia, with a growing near-term focus on helium development alongside its broader natural hydrogen strategy.

The company says recent drilling and testing programs have produced exceptionally high gas purity readings, including natural hydrogen concentrations up to 97% and helium concentrations up to 36.9% (air-corrected), which it describes as potentially world-leading based on publicly available information.

Gold Hydrogen also disclosed that Worley Consulting completed a high-level commercial assessment of several helium production scenarios for the Ramsay Project. According to the company, the modelling suggests potential commercial viability under certain flow-rate assumptions, although no reserves or contingent resources have yet been defined.

The announcement places significant emphasis on tightening global helium supply conditions, noting Australia currently imports all of its helium following the closure of the Darwin LNG helium facility in 2023. The company argues that growing demand from semiconductors, AI infrastructure, MRI systems, aerospace, and defence applications could create strategic opportunities for domestic production.

Gold Hydrogen outlined several possible future pathways under evaluation, including modular helium purification systems, hydrogen-powered onsite energy generation, compressed hydrogen transport, green methanol production, and eventual liquid hydrogen export concepts.

The company stated that upcoming flow-testing work, expected to begin in mid-2026, will play a critical role in determining whether the Ramsay Project can support future commercial development.
