45-8 ENERGY Secures Strategic Majority Investment to Scale Multi-Resource Subsurface Platform
45-8 ENERGY has entered a new phase of development following the acquisition of a majority stake by Ad Terra, forming a strategic alliance focused on scaling subsurface resource exploration and production across multiple commodities.
The transaction strengthens 45-8 ENERGY’s position as a European operator in helium and natural hydrogen, while expanding its technical and financial capabilities to support a diversified portfolio including lithium, geothermal energy, and CO₂-related applications.
The combined platform integrates geoscience datasets, operational infrastructure, and multidisciplinary expertise across four continents. This includes expanded capabilities in subsurface modelling, resource evaluation, and project execution, alongside the deployment of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence for geoscience analysis and operational optimization.
The alliance is structured around three core pillars:
• Integrated geoscience portfolio across multiple subsurface resources
• Expanded international technical workforce covering full project lifecycle
• Enhanced operational and technological capacity to accelerate development timelines
The transaction occurs in a broader context of increasing focus on supply chain security, regional resource sovereignty, and decarbonization. By consolidating capabilities across exploration, production, and recycling, the combined entity is positioned to accelerate industrial deployment of critical subsurface resources, including natural hydrogen and helium.
